Delete your account or data
This page explains how to delete your PickupRadar account, your Radar profile and the data linked to them, including if you no longer have the app. PickupRadar is developed by Hamza Khan.
Delete in the app (quickest)
- Open PickupRadar.
- Tap Profile at the bottom of the Home screen.
- Scroll down and tap Delete account if you protected your RadarPoints with your email, or Delete Radar profile if you did not.
- Tap Delete permanently to confirm.
Deletion starts straight away. Afterwards, the app starts a new anonymous Radar profile on your phone.
Ask us to delete your email account
If you protected your RadarPoints with your email address and cannot use the app:
- Email support@pickupradar.com from the email address on your PickupRadar account, with the subject “Delete my PickupRadar account”.
- We will reply to that address to confirm the request before deleting anything.
If you write from a different address, we will need to confirm that you control the account’s email address. We will never ask for a password or for a sign-in code. Do not send us your code.
Anonymous Radar profiles
If you never added an email address, your Radar profile is linked only to a random ID stored in the app on your phone. The easiest way to delete it is in the app, using the steps above.
Deleting the app removes that ID from your phone, but it does not delete the records on our servers.
Ownership of an anonymous profile can only be proven from the phone it was created on, using the random ID and secret code stored in the app. Details such as a Radar name, a city or the dates you used the app can’t prove that a profile is yours, because other people could know them. So if you no longer have the app, we may not be able to delete an anonymous profile. You can still email support@pickupradar.com and we will explain what we can do.
City launch alert emails
You can withdraw a launch alert in the app, or email us from the address you signed up with and we will delete the sign-ups for that address. Launch-alert emails are also deleted automatically, as explained in our Privacy Policy.
What is deleted
- Your Radar profile, Radar name, RadarPoints and contribution history
- Your email sign-in, if you had an email account
- The links between your phone’s device ID and your profile
- Your referral codes, and your read or dismissed status for in-app messages
- City launch alert sign-ups linked to your profile or phone
- Notes on the problem reports, status reports and venue suggestions linked to your profile
What may be kept
- Past reports, such as wait times, venue status reports and tags, and venue suggestions: the device ID on the records linked to your profile is replaced with a random value, so they are no longer connected to your profile in our database. They still contain details such as the venue and time, so they are de-identified rather than fully anonymous. They may be kept so they can still help other drivers.
- Referral records that involved you, without your profile.
- A minimal deletion record for email accounts (an internal account reference, the device ID, a one-way scrambled copy of the phone’s secret code and dates), so the deletion can be completed safely and shown to have happened.
- Backups: our database provider keeps daily backups for 7 days, so deleted information can stay in a backup for up to 7 days.
- Support emails about your request, for as long as we need them to deal with it.
See our Privacy Policy for full details of how long we keep information and your other rights.
